Clumsy Phraseology -

I finally heard back from the job I applied for a while ago. They left a message on my answering machine with a number to call. The number doesn't connect.

This does not bode well.

You see, Had you a mobile phone, Like most others, You would have gotten the number they called from, or they could call you back on that, or you would not have missed the call.
